The automotive arm of one of the biggest names in electronics has expanded into larger offices in Coventry after a ten-week refurbishment.

LG Electronics in Vehicle components, a division of Korean giants LG Electronics, has moved into 5,700 sq ft of space at Viscount Centre B at the University of Warwick Science Park following a high-spec fit-out from refurbishment specialists Sandell Group.

The firm supplies automotive OEM products around the world with advanced electronic parts for high-end brand vehicles.

Following a great period of success for the firm at its previous site at the Science Park, LG needed more space to grow its team of 24 to around 30 as it looks to continue on an upward curve.

Mollie O’Mara, who acted as project manager for LG during the move, said: “With our planned expansion drive, we wanted to ensure the office space we had could easily accommodate new staff.

“While we’d been happy at our previous site just over the road at the Science Park, we were looking for more space and something new and fresh, that provides a great place not just for our staff, but for clients too.

“We also wanted to stay at the Science Park if possible due to its excellent location for our staff and clients.

“Viscount Centre B was ideal and just needed a new fit out.”

The University of Warwick Science Park referred LG to Stratford-based Sandell Group (UK) Ltd having contracted the company previously for several office refurbishment projects.

Sandell undertook a ten-week construction project in March, fitting the office out with features such as open workspaces for staff, bright meeting rooms with glass walls, furniture procurement, and a large open kitchen and boardroom with a removeable wall to facilitate larger gatherings if required.

“The new office is fantastic – it looks exactly like the initial renders we were shown,” Mollie added.

“Sandell were excellent to deal with throughout. The communication was always clear and the team were only too happy to answer our questions.

“Our new base at Viscount Centre B will be the perfect place for LG Electronics in Vehicle components to achieve even further success with our clients both in the Midlands and around the world.”

Nissar Khan, Head of Business Development at Sandell Group added: “During the design process, our team worked closely with LG to ensure the final renders were exactly what they wanted.

“Once Mollie and the team were satisfied, we were able to complete construction in a very quick period, reducing any unnecessary delays to LG moving in.

“It’s great to hear that LG is so happy with the fit-out – it’s testament to the hard work and years of experience our team has in completing these kinds of projects.”

Victoria Lynch, Head of Commercial at the University of Warwick Science Park added: “LG Electronics in Vehicle components had been a long-standing tenant of the Science Park alongside many other world-class, innovative businesses who understand the benefits of being in such a great location, so we were very keen to accommodate their needs here.

“We’re really pleased that LG is all moved in and hope the team can use the new offices as a base to grow even further.”
