An AI-powered holiday packing start-up is targeting major travel industry partnerships and new recruits after moving into its first commercial office space following support from a leading Midlands science park.
BeachSupplies.co.uk, owned by parent company Adel Rose and founded by husband-and-wife team Craig and Jenna Bevan, has taken office space at Business Innovation Centre in Binley – part of the University of Warwick Science Park – after previously benefiting and scaling from the Science Park’s Ignite incubation programme.
The business uses artificial intelligence to create personalised holiday packing lists based on factors such as the destination, holiday type, length of stay, traveller ages and the time of year before automatically filling an online shopping basket with recommended items.
The idea was born in 2021, after the arrival of the couple’s daughter, when preparing for family holidays became increasingly complicated and time-consuming.
Rather than spending valuable time searching for last-minute essentials or risking important items being forgotten altogether, BeachSupplies.co.uk was created to help holidaymakers prepare for trips more easily and confidently.
After using the Ignite programme to establish the foundations of the business and launch its platform, Craig and Jenna have now moved into a larger office at the Business Innovation Centre as they prepare for the next phase of growth.
The company is aiming to expand its team, strengthen its technology offering and secure partnerships with tour operators and cruise lines that would allow holidaymakers to add BeachSupplies.co.uk purchases to their bookings in a similar way to car hire, airport parking or travel insurance.
Craig said: “What started as a solution to a problem we were experiencing ourselves has grown into something that we believe can improve the way people prepare for holidays.
“Having a young family made us realise just how easy it is to forget important items or find yourself rushing around at the last minute trying to buy essentials before you travel.
“The support we’ve received through the Ignite programme gave us the opportunity to build the business properly and test our ideas in a supportive environment.
“Moving into a larger commercial office feels like a true milestone for us. The centre management team have been incredibly supportive throughout the process and have helped make the transition seamless.
“We now have the space and environment to grow the team, develop the platform further and pursue some exciting conversations within the travel sector.
“The connections available through the Science Park have also been hugely valuable. We’re about to welcome two interns through the Warwick Innovation District who will support us with data analysis and marketing activity, which will be a real boost as we continue to scale.”
The move reflects the Science Park’s commitment to supporting innovative businesses as they progress from early-stage incubation to sustainable growth.
Emma Turner, Centre Manager at the Business Innovation Centre, said: “It’s fantastic to see Craig and Jenna take this next step after progressing through our Ignite incubation programme.
“One of the most fulfilling aspects of our role is supporting ambitious businesses from the earliest stages and helping them access the tools and resources needed to grow with confidence.
“We’ve enjoyed working closely with Craig and Jenna as the business has evolved, and we’re delighted to have supported their transition into larger premises. We look forward to supporting their continued growth, recruitment plans and future partnerships as the company expands.”
