Warwick marks 60 years with its largest ever Alumni Reunion

On Saturday 22 November, the University opened its doors to alumni, friends and family for its largest ever Alumni Reunion Weekend – a major event honouring six decades of Warwick’s history.

As the first reunion of its kind at Warwick, the day brought together over 1,000 graduates from across six decades for talks, campus tours, live performances, activities, and opportunities to reconnect with the wider University community.

Among the attendees were some of Warwick’s earliest students, including 23 from the very first graduating class in 1968, some of whom were back on campus for the first time since graduation. The scale of attendance reflected the global reach of Warwick’s alumni community, with attendees travelling from over 20 countries including New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia and the US.

UK alumni also turned out in large numbers, travelling from across the country with strong representation from London, Coventry, Bristol, Nottingham and Birmingham.

Attendees represented a broad mix of schools, departments and faculties, reminiscing about former lecturers and shared experiences. The largest cohort came from Warwick Business School, with Economics and Mathematics also strongly represented.

Professor Stuart Croft, Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Warwick, said: “Welcoming so many Warwick alumni back to campus for our 60th anniversary reunion has been one of the real highlights of our celebrations this year. Our alumni community continues to inspire us – their achievements, their global impact, and their ongoing connection to Warwick reflect the very best of this University.

“It has been fantastic to see friendships rekindled and stories shared, and to feel the pride our alumni still hold for Warwick. Thank you to everyone who joined us – in some cases, travelling thousands of miles – to be part of this special occasion.”

Sixty years on, Warwick’s alumni community remains one of the University’s greatest strengths – diverse, vibrant and ever-growing.

With more than 305,000 graduates worldwide, Warwick alumni continue to drive innovation, lead in their fields and strengthen the communities they serve, while staying connected to the University that helped shape them.
