Minerva Business Angels has successfully coordinated a £400,000 investment into Digit Music, a fast-growing MusicTech company, as part of the company’s £500,000 funding round.
The investment followed a pitch presentation delivered by Digit Music at an event held Leicestershire County Cricket ground. Such events are a core part of Minerva’s structured approach to connecting early-stage businesses with its investor network.
The deal demonstrates the continued strength of the Midlands angel investment ecosystem in identifying and backing high-potential technology businesses.
Based at the University of Warwick Science Park, Minerva Business Angels is one of the UK’s longest-established and most active angel investment networks. The organisation connects experienced private investors with early-stage and high-growth businesses across technology sectors, providing both capital and strategic support.
Digit Music, which has generated £59,000 in revenue this quarter and secured adoption by multiple schools and academy trusts, represents the type of commercially driven, impact-focused business that Minerva supports. The company provides a digital platform enabling schools to deliver music education without requiring specialist teaching staff.
Supporting Commercial Growth with Social Impact
Luke Pulford, Head of Minerva Business Angels, said: “Digit Music is a strong example of the quality businesses our network engages with. This investment highlights how early-stage funding can support companies that combine commercial potential with meaningful social impact. We are pleased to have coordinated the investment and to support the company’s continued growth.”
Digit Music has received Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) advance assurance from HMRC, which may be relevant to eligible investors. As with any early-stage investment, investors should undertake their own due diligence and seek independent advice where appropriate.
Strengthening the Angel Investment Network
Minerva Business Angels welcomes expressions of interest from prospective members. The network provides a structured environment for angel investors, including due diligence support, opportunities to collaborate on investments, and access to a network of experienced investors across the Midlands and nationally.
Luke added, “Our role extends beyond coordinating investments. We focus on connecting businesses with the right investors and supporting a collaborative investment environment that benefits both founders and investors.”
