On Wednesday 10 September, University of Warwick Science Park came together to mark World Suicide Prevention Day and show support for local charity, SOS Silence of Suicide, as they celebrated their 10th anniversary.
Since 2015, SOS has been working tirelessly to provide safe spaces for open conversations around mental health and suicide, breaking down stigma and supporting people when they need it most. Their mission aligned with the day itself – raising awareness, breaking the silence, and showing that nobody has to struggle alone.
Our tenants and colleagues across Business Innovation Centre, Warwick Innovation Centre and the Venture Centre joined the Purple-ise to Prevent campaign, proudly wearing purple in support.
It was fantastic to see our community come together in support of suicide prevention and to help spark open conversations about mental health in the workplace. Everyone really embraced the theme, from purple tops and trousers to even purple-painted nails.
It was a simple yet powerful reminder that mental health matters at every level – whether you’re a founder, a colleague, or part of a growing organisation. Thank you to everyone who took helped us to raise awareness this World Suicide Prevention Day.
