A technology solutions partner is confident its move to new Coventry offices will help it attract high-level talent and support continued business growth.

Techsol’s Coventry team has recently moved into the Business Innovation Centre – part of the University of Warwick Science Park – in Binley as it looks to take on more members of staff and win further work.

The business, which turned over £5.5m last year and employs 53 people across its offices in Cardiff, St Austell, and Tewkesbury, provides tailored technology solutions to help businesses in a wide range of sectors achieve their goals, as well as providing managed IT services and support.

Recent projects have included using software to help warehouses improve their efficiency, and helping office businesses enhance their remote working capabilities.

Techsol had broken into the Coventry and Midlands markets after its acquisition of the former IBIT Solutions, based at Enterprise House in Foleshill, in October 2023.

Following the buyout, Techsol wanted a new office for the team that could not only ensure IBIT’s staff could stay, but would have space for the team to grow.

Rachel McHugh, Head of Brand and Culture at Techsol, said: “The Business Innovation Centre seemed like the ideal fit for our ambitions when we were searching for a new office.

“With it being in Coventry, it meant the original team could stay in the business, and its proximity to the motorway meant we could easily get there from our head office in Cardiff.

“The Innovation Centre’s link to the University of Warwick was attractive to us as well. We felt having access to highly skilled graduates and interns from the university could help us find some very talented individuals who could build their careers with us.”

When the decision to move into the Innovation Centre was made, Rachel and the team were impressed with how quickly the paperwork was done.

Rachel added: “The process was so smooth, and with the Innovation Centre’s recommendation of Buropro for the office refurbishment, it meant that we didn’t have to constantly come up from Cardiff to oversee everything.

“Since moving in, we’ve been really impressed with our new offices. It’s a much more inviting and open space, and will be a brilliant place to invite both new and existing clients.

“The flexible lease we have with the Innovation Centre means we can expand within the building if we grow as planned, which means we can focus on hiring new staff without worrying about finding larger premises again.

“We’re confident we can use the Innovation Centre as a base for sustained growth in Coventry and the wider Midlands.”

Emma Turner, Centre Manager at the Business Innovation Centre, added: “We’re really pleased that Techsol’s Coventry team have settled in so quickly into the Business Innovation Centre. The fluid communication between myself and the Senior Management Team at Techsol has made the process seamless and has allowed the business to take occupation in a timely manner.

“Many of our existing tenants have been able to grow significantly on the site thanks to the flexibility of our leases and standard of service provided, and we’re hopeful that Techsol will be among them in the near future.

“We foster and encourage collaborative working through the wider university community and look forward to signposting Techsol to the Universities Employer Engagement team.”
