Tenants across the Business Innovation Centre in Binley (BIC) have shown their community spirit by raising thousands of pounds for multiple charitable organisations over the last 12 months.
Various generous donations have been made which include raising £405 for Movember; supporting a local food bank by volunteering and donating 275kg of food for people in need, as well as more recently raising £309 to help fund Leukaemia treatment abroad for a little boy called Theo.
The team at BIC have supported the worthy initiatives boosting awareness with other tenants and the wider local community, to help the companies reach the funding targets for these great charities and causes.
Through sharing messages within the BIC community, tenants were able to join in with the foodbank collection at the Halo Centre by TalentTech Recruitment, and the coffee mornings organised by TMS Consultancy, which raised a fantastic total of £1,050 for the Samaritans charity and MacMillian Cancer Support.
BIC tenant TalentTech also took part in the Zwick Runs the World event where they chose Kingsbury Academy in Coventry to receive a €1,000 donation to help fund a sensory play area.
Staff at the Business Innovation Centre also arranged a winter networking event at the end of 2022 to support Save the Children’s Christmas jumper day and raised £90 for charity.
Victoria Lynch, centre manager of the University of Warwick Science Park’s Business Innovation Centre, said: “We are very lucky to have such fantastic tenants and a great sense of community at the Business Innovation Centre. We look forward to participating in further charitable events in 2023”.
A special thank you to all at TalentTech Recruitment, TMS Consultancy and Elizabeth Egan from Gentex, who have all shown their community spirit by arranging and taking part in these activities over the past year.
We are very proud of our community stepping up to support a variety of good causes and will continue to support and raise awareness for these great causes.
