A trio of advisers has been appointed to help businesses across Coventry and Warwickshire reach their growth potential.

The University of Warwick Science Park has appointed Alex Toft, Jagdish Soor and Ian McFarlane-Toms as Business Growth Advisers to work on the Business Ready programme.

The programme is supporting companies with their plans to grow by offering advice on access to finance, access to skills, access to space and access to markets.

Jagdish is an experienced business and technology professional with a proven record of start-up ventures, establishing new relationships, connections and collaborations in emerging markets.

He has held senior consultative roles to assist high growth companies to develop sales and source suitable projects within the aerospace, automotive and electronic sectors.

Alex has been mentoring SMEs over the past three years and is a member of the Association of Business Mentors. He has enjoyed an eclectic career – from managing a start-up to inventing a drug and forming a successful biotech business.

During his career, he has been a key inventor in ten patents, picked up an MBA, a law degree, a Masters, was a CQC Registered Manager and has frequently appeared on the BBC, ITV and other media outlets as part of PR campaigns.

Ian has over 30 years’ experience in senior management posts in sales, marketing, operations and finance. He is an accredited business adviser and a part qualified management accountant.

He’s worked at home and abroad and has a successful track record in business turnaround, business development, change management and mergers & acquisitions.

Janette Pallas, Business Programmes Manager at the University of Warwick Science Park, said: “Businesses who tap into our Business Ready support programme can now benefit from the great expertise and experience from Jagdish, Ian and Alex.

“All three have experience in business and use that knowledge to help other companies grow and achieve their ambitions.”

Business Ready is delivered by the University of Warwick Science Park and is part of the Coventry and Warwickshire Business Support Programme, which is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Warwickshire County Council.
