Tenants

Over the past 20 years the University of Warwick Science Park has been home to many successful technology and knowledge based businesses. We have had in excess of 300 companies reside on the park, our business support services have reached over 500 companies and we are currently home to more than 150 companies.

We have seen businesses start up, grow and expand beyond the Science Park. As testament to the success our tenants have experienced whilst based at the park, 4 companies have won the 'Queens Awards for Enterprise', more than 20 companies have appeared in the top 10 of the Deloitte & Touche 'Fast 50 Awards', of which 70% of the West Midlands' Fast 50 companies in 2002 were based at the Science Park. Also a number of companies have regularly featured in the 'Sunday Times TechTrack 100'.

One of the reasons for the success of the University of Warwick Science Park has been our adherence to a strict tenant admittance policy.  In particular, tenants have to meet three criteria, which are in line with the Science Park's overall policy of creating high value, technology-based employment.

The tenant criteria are:

•  Involvement in a knowledge based industry with a view to be developing that knowledge further.

•  Having a business plan that demonstrates growth in employment.

•  View to Establishing and developing links with the University of Warwick, if not already in existence.

There are a few exceptions to this rule, such as companies concerned with the dissemination of knowledge and some specialised training.

Of the companies based on the Park, the majority are small businesses having less than 10 employees but we are also home to several large multinational technology based businesses.

The principal industry sectors our tenants are involved in are Computer Software and Systems, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Business Services and Consultancy and Medical/ Biotechnology.
