Science Park Director Applauded

Science Park Director David Rowe, who was recently bestowed with a major national award, has been honoured by his colleagues and associates.
David Rowe, the director of the University of Warwick Science Park, was given the Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion Lifetime Achievement as part of the Queen’s 80th birthday celebrations. He is only the second person to win the award – the first in this region – as it was started last year to honour individual activities which contribute to and foster an entrepreneurial culture.
Staff at the Science Park as well as Chairman Professor David VandeLinde, and Directors - Peter Burns, Nigel Maris, Ian Nussey and Ken Thomas held a surprise reception for David. The University of Warwick Science Park’s founders as well as several business people associated with it over the last 20 years also attended.
David said: “It was a very nice surprise and capped a great few weeks.“I was delighted to win the award in the first place and felt extremely honoured – especially as I am the first person from the region to win it.
“It was great to be able to celebrate with all the people who have helped both myself and the Science Park over the years - without them our achievements would not have been possible.”
