New Home for HouseMark

HouseMark, which celebrates its fifth anniversary this year, is relocating from the Westwood Business Park to the University of Warwick Science Park’s new state-of-the-art Riley Court Building.

The company was formed in 1999 and is owned by the Chartered Institute of Housing and the National Housing Federation. It has become the leading performance improvement service in social housing.

HouseMark began with just two people, but has since grown to 23 and has outgrown its current accommodation. That is why it has just become the first resident in its new home at Riley Court.

Janet Richards, the director of operations, said: “We have expanded a great deal since we set up and it was essential that we found a new base.

“The new Riley Court building at the University of Warwick Science Park has come about at exactly the right time for us. The location, the IT services and the fact that it is an environmentally friendly building appealed.”

HouseMark has 430 subscriber organisations across the UK. These include local organisations such as the Orbit Housing Group, the Keynote Housing Group and Whitefriars in Coventry and many other organisations working in the sector nationwide.

It helps housing organisations improve performance, achieve efficiency and value for money as well as allowing them to compare service costs and quality with peers.

HouseMark’s benchmarking methodology is also recognised as the industry standard.

David Rowe, of the University of Warwick Science Park, said: “We are very pleased that HouseMark have chosen Riley Court as its new headquarters. It is the first company to move in but several more will follow very soon – in fact the building is already 50 per cent let.”

Riley Court, which is situated on the main site of the Science Park in Millburn Road, Coventry, is a modern, purpose-built centre comprising 13 “grow-on” units.

It has been designed to cater for companies who have outgrown incubation units but which will still benefit from a range of business support services offered through the Science Park.
