Short walk to make WMITA quality award!
With 250 companies in the West Midlands IT Association, Operations Director, Pravin Patel, is constantly travelling across the region to meet his members.
But it was just a short walk to present the WMITA Quality Mark Award to Director Steve Taylor of Q2 Project Management Services Ltd.
They are literally, next-door neighbours at the University of Warwick Science Park's Innovation Centre at Blythe Valley Park, Solihull.
The WMITA Quality Mark is awarded when member companies achieve high business standards and it is recognised within the industry as a key driver to generate more business.
Receiving the accolade Steve Taylor commented, "As specialists in IT project management, we're delighted to receive the award. It gives us even more credibility with our clients and potential clients and improves our ability to increase our sales across the region."
The criteria for the award are stringent. Three client references have to be provided based on quality of service, delivery times and costs accuracy compared to budgets. WMITA also canvasses clients directly but, toughest of all, there is a peer review.
Pravin Patel, explains, "The peer review is the most stringent element in the process as we ask other members to feed back views about the candidate company's performance.
"The IT community is closely knit and members soon hear when a company isn't delivering properly," he said.
In addition to the references and peer review, a successful company must also have professional indemnity insurance and its web site is audited to ensure it complies with the Association's Supplier Standard.
Pravin added, 'The fact that Q2 are our neighbours didn't influence the decision - it just means that both organisations recognise the fantastic benefits of communication, quality of accommodation and service we receive from being based at the Innovation Centre!"
