A Science Park company is helping businesses to target their sales effort more effectively.

MkIS, based at the Warwick Innovation Centre, University of Warwick Science Park, has developed a unique solution for managing and tracking sales leads. The company works primarily in the IT sector with companies like Clarity, which promote/market e-business focused manufacturers such as Sun Microsystems and Nortel Networks. However, the web-based solution is applicable to any large company with a remote sales force or where products are distributed and sold by third parties - a reseller community.

Steve Vaughan, Director at MkIS comments, "The key to our success lies in the fact that our solution is web based and that we can offer an integral human resource ensuring the whole process works and is completed. There are no costly set up procedures, it can be customised to meet differing client needs and it's intuitive and simple to use."

Steve adds that the benefits are that the system provides new insights on how best to maximize marketing budgets, and gives a real time window into what's happening in the market place-a real competitive advantage when a market is depressed.

There are several enthusiastic users-not least Clarity Technology. Simon adds, "MkIS have developed a fantastic tracking tool which allows me to look at our sales lead status from several perspectives; by vendor, reseller, campaign element and overall. As a marketing director, driving huge campaigns, which generate hundreds of leads, this facility has proven invaluable."
