Science Park Home to 70% of Coventry and Warwickshire Top Growth Companies
The University of Warwick Science Park is home to 70% of the fastest growing businesses in Coventry & Warwickshire.
A remarkable seven Science Park companies in a group of fifty West and East Midlands businesses have been awarded for growth in turnover. An additional three companies in the top division are also from Coventry and Warwickshire making a massive 20% of the competition's winners coming from the relatively small Coventry & Warwickshire catchment area. The Midlands regional Deloitte & Touche 'Fast 50' awards identifies future technology stars for potential investors and partners. The Fast 50 Midlands covers a geographical area from Shropshire to Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire to Worcestershire.
Top award among Science Park companies went to Networks Newmedia Ltd based at the Park's Binley Innovation Centre, Coventry. The company achieved a massive 317% growth in 2000-2001. John Chalfin, Managing Director comments, "We are delighted to be the regional runners up. We attribute our success to our evolving technologies and viewing our clients, not just as customers, but long-term business partners. It's also great news for the Science Park, which has a whole range of talented companies able to provide business solutions."
Four other Science Park companies appeared in the top 50 list for the first time while bit 10 Ltd and 1st Software Ltd both featured for the second year running. David Rowe The Science Park's Director added, "For two years in succession the Science Park has been home to the majority of the fastest growth technology companies in Coventry and Warwickshire. While it was always our objective to foster this type of business performance, it is rewarding for the Park's partners, (the University of Warwick, Coventry City and Warwickshire County Councils and West Midlands Enterprise Board) to see their project exceeding expectations in delivering on economic improvement in the region."
