Warwick Innovation Centre Phase Three - Opens for business
Only days after opening its doors for business, the new Phase Three development of the University of Warwick's Science Park's Innovation Centre at Warwick, is already nearly 50% occupied.
Speaking at the formal hand over of the new development by Wheatley Construction Ltd, Bill Bagguley, Centre Manager commented, "In spite of the world economic slowdown the innovation led, knowledge based businesses, which we specifically cater for at the Science Park, are still relatively buoyant."
The whole Centre is currently home to 20 companies. Two existing tenant companies, Solid Solutions Management Ltd and ASTRAC, have grown significantly and expanded into the new extension last month. Phase Three, which is linked to the existing building by a unique footbridge, provides 12,850 sq ft of high quality, comfort cooled accommodation, designed specifically for a computer-orientated environment. Conference facilities are also an integral part of the development. Bill adds, "Tenants tell us that the Centre's location at the heart of the country's communication network is an asset. We provide flexible leases in terms of time and accommodation space, which are a must for fast growing businesses. Several Science Park clients also take advantage of the direct access they have to the research and development facilities of the University of Warwick."
The Warwick Innovation Centre has been developed by a partnership between Warwickshire County Council and the University of Warwick Science Park Ltd. Advantage West Midlands contributed over £0.5m towards the funding of the development as part of the Government's Innovation Cluster Fund programme.
