Synerdeal's A Dotcom Success!
A Midland based company is bucking the dotcom economic trend.
SynerDeal Ltd, based at the University of Warwick Science Park's Business Innovation centre at Binley, is growing rapidly producing an average of 19% savings on its clients' purchases. Using the Internet the company manages call-for-tenders on behalf of corporate clients. It then manages real time, on line, 'reverse' auctions where potential suppliers bid live for well-defined contracts. The auction process is transparent as every bidder can see the progress of the process. Each company's identity is kept anonymous by a reference code.
The company moved to the Science Park since a major element of its customer base is in the automotive sector and located in the Midlands. David Bricknell, Business Development Director comments, "As well as being in the right location, we selected the Science Park as we wanted to be associated with the University of Warwick and have a prestigious address. In fact we are now using University academics for an important European research project."

Currently SynerDeal Ltd has 22 employees but growth is so rapid that it is anticipated 100 will be employed within the next year. "The flexibility the Science Park gives us, in terms of being able to manage growth efficiently, is another reason we moved here." David adds.
As one of the Binley companies highlighted when Lord Sainsbury, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Science, formally opened the centre in January, the management team are now set to advise the Treasury on the implications of 'virtual auction rooms' for the public sector.
